who made these maps? i hope he knows that 1.6 players will get anal over just about anything, and that if distances from walls aren't exactly the same number of units as 1.6 maps he will have hell to pay. pretty sure everyone wants to be able to throw the same nades landing in the same spots as 1.6. this isn't source where you just win by throwing a flashbang anywhere in the air and blinding everyone

your fps is determined by your refresh rate it doesn't matter if you have 100 fps or 300 fps if your using an lcd your gonna be gettin 75fps, cuz the refresh rate is 75 hz
Coming from someone who has played Counter-Strike "professionally" for years both in Source and in 1.6, I can honestly say this looks pretty good. On another note, I have never played ProMod.
I still hate the textures for the ground and rocks outside on Nuke, but that's not something to really complain about. Anyway, we'll see how it looks once we actually get to play them.
theres something called vsync that caps it to your monitors refresh rate... pretty easy to turn it off. don't post about computers until you know something
Even though they "looked" nice, Promod is worthless now. It was gonna be real useful for 1.6/source players when CGS was around..but now all of the pros are back in 1.6 and 1.6 is alive again while sauce is pretty much dead.
this looks outstanding. these graphics with 1.6 gameplay....oh baby. the pros and the leagues will eventually switch from 1.6 to csp (once every movement is identical to 1.6). And unlike with CGS, the 1.6 community will follow this time.
We're not losing our game, we're simply moving to a better version which will further CS as the world's best online video game.
inferno looked awesome, but as #5 said, the maps better match 1.6's very closely or it'll suck to land tricky nades and spam ppl through walls
also, having never played source or csp, is it not possible to boost ppl up? dust2's mid had that ledge and that got some action in a couple of important games over the years
there are useful links on my profile (for 1.6) so check it out
im with #30 here, one of the most important things about cs 1.6 maps was the spots we could get and defend by boosting ppl up,but as far as i know hl2 engine doesnt allow that, how we gonna do it?
Shame on HL2 engine.. If these maps can be used for CS 1.6, it will be great! Nice lightings for dark areas, inferno fairly improved, and more places to scout for enemies when boosting. Team's gameplay can be absolutely different with these maps.
Btw, is the nuke ramp going to lower bombsite has four entrances, instead of two?? The c4 guarding will be much harder but it's good to see fresh tactics. NICE ONE!!
#8 the reason why nothing replaces 1.6 is because of the people playing it. IE mostly stubborn people worried about transitioning to a game that they may not be as good at. If you're on the level high enough to be considered pro you're good enough to adapt and practice to make something else work nothing will be perfect but people are unable to take a first step they just throw up their arms and say, "nope not 1.6 f that".
bring back the jumping accuracy like back in 1.3, although I doubt 85% of the kids who complain about gaming these days know there was even a game before 1.6
See it's people like number 35 in the 1.6 community that are gay as hell. WAKE UP THE LAYOUT IS 1.6 AND ITS A LITTLE PRETTIER EXACTLY WHAT ITS SUPPOSED TO BE SHUT UP.
#17 I'm sorry your an idiot. If you have an LCD your not going to be able to see more than 85 FPS even if your VSYNC is turned off because most LCDs have yet to go over 85 hertz. ... Seeing how you probably don't know much about hertz and how they effect how smooth the game runs, looks like your the one who should shhhhh his mouth.
BTW if your LCD is older than 8 or 9 months I doubt you can even achieve 85 hertz.
If you are getting 1000000000000000 FPS and your monitor/LCD has a max of 85 hertz your only going to see 85 of those 100000000000000.
#8 but why switch to a new game that is trying to recreate something we already have, it would make sense if people were starting to stray away from 1.6 but the point is what we already have is good and most people are happy with it.
i just dont see the point in waiting to play something i already have that i know is good
It wasn't the maps that failed with the first release of promod, it was the other two billion bugs that made the game unplayable. Stop releasing pics of pretty maps and get to work fixing the game idiots.
If anyone actually reads this from the dev team this is what I think needs to be changed
1. First off the ground needs to stop being bumpy aka nuke outside, dust2. Make it all one level like 1.6 2. Anywhere its dark on any map its almost too dark 3. On inferno there some like towers blocking the way if I was going to throw a sky flash at say mid 4. Dust2 Mid ruins certain angles for flash and smoking the double doors because of the windows you put on the sides 5. The back of B site on inferno it way to far back eg. the back hiding corner looks massive compared to 1.6
There seems to be a problem with all mappers nowaday its seems like they all have attention deficit disorder and they always have to add random crap and do things for no reason and these maps still have that feeling. No hate on cashed but it seems like hes adding crap like doors/windows before hes making everything perfect to 1.6.
this game is not 1.6 its an improvement to 1.6 so quit acting like it has to be exactly the same and if thats what you want then you might as well just make your own damn game because thats ridiculous

I should've taken more pictures inside the maps before I wrote the article.
