The 2nd year Anniversary of the Official GotFrag World Rankings is also the 20th update released today. The first release of the Rankings was December 15th, 2002 and over the past two years it has seen wild changes after CPL’s which was true for the World Rankings. The two regional rankings didn’t see much shakeup at all by comparison. The biggest question for all involved could be where the new NiP falls but there’s intriguing storylines for all the rankings. ![]() The 2nd year Anniversary of the Official GotFrag World Rankings is also the 20th update released today. Worldwide Rankings [CANNOT DISPLAY TABLE] Just Outside: g3x - 18, mTw.ATI - 14, astralis - 7 Americans take over of the lower rankings after finishing with four out of the top 8 spots at Winter CPL. CPL shakeup took out the Finnish teams after no top 8 placements and roster changes. SK.swe’s former team NiP took a hit dropping two spots while NoA jumped into the top spot barely beating EYE. Begrip and mibr both find themselves on the rankings. For Begrip this is the first appearance while mibr rejoins after a brief absence. North American Rankings
Just Outside: Meepins - 10, viGor - 6, 2D - 4 CPL does funny things to the American rankings after every event. The survivors of CPL tend to get great rankings while the losers and no shows suffer. The update for this CPL really isn't what we are used to seeing after a CPL event. Beyond coL, no one really saw huge changes. TEC slid some spots after not backing up a stellar CAL-I season at CPL. D!E benefited from its 7th place finish, while u5 did not drop much in the rankings after some tough matches. European Rankings [CANNOT DISPLAY TABLE] Just Outside: GG - 9, Pentagram - 5, Virtus.pro - 4 As long as the rankings have been around SK.swe has been at the top or near the top. These rankings show a change as no SK.swe team at CPL results in not only a lack of ranking but a drop of a spot for NiP, SK.swe’s old roster. EYE who has seen a 1st and 2nd place at the last two CPL’s earns a well deserved top ranking. Begrip grabs 3rd after a 4th place finish at CPL. Some tough roster changes and a lower finish then usual hurts both The Titans and D-Skyline. D-Skyline falls as far as 7th as they lost two players to astralis who grabs 6th. mTw capitalizes on the shakeups jumping into the 5th spot. Mouz edges out 4Kings despite a higher CPL placement, to be decided at WEG. General Ranking Notes: 1. Sorry, but there aren't any rankings for Australian, Asian or South American regions. 2. NoA is an international team, and do not qualify for North American or European rankings. They are ranked in the World Rankings. 3. Rankings are voted on by top teams from around the World by an email/point process where each representative ranks the team with the team receiving points based on their individual ranking per representative. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
