The Electronic Sports World Cup has announced the official game list for next years event in France. The event is scheduled to take place from June 27th to July 2nd in Paris.
The Electronic Sports World Cup announced tonight the official games that will be played at next years tournament. There will be six PC tournament held along with one Playstation 2 competition. It is no surprise to see both Counter-Strike 1.6 and Quake 4 being a part of the festivities. The Male Counter-Strike tournament will feature a prize purse of $160,000 and the Female tournament will have $40,000 up for grabs. Last year, the United States managed to sweep the CS tournaments with compLexity winning for the men, and Girls Got Game taking the title for the women. They will definately be looking forward to defending their title. Along side Counter-Strike, Quake 4 will be another large tournament as it is also the primary 1v1 game for next years CPL World Tour. It's prize purse is $40,000.

Other tournaments being held for the PC include Warcraft III, Pro Evolution Soccer 5 and Trackmania Nations ESWC, all of which will also feature $40,000 in total prize money. The lone PlayStation 2 tournament held will be for Gran Turismo 4, and once again it will feature $40,000 in prize money. The total prize for all games at the ESWC will be $400,000

The 2006 ESWC tournament will be held from June 27th to July 2nd in Paris, France. This means that the ESWC tournament will end three days before the CPL Summer event, which begins on July 5th. Despite the close proximity of both tournaments, the large amount of prize money for both should encourage teams that qualify for the ESWC to also attend the CPL. As always, you can be sure GotFrag will be on site in both Paris and Dallas to bring you the best coverage of both tournaments. Make sure to stick around, as next year will see some very intense competition.

$160,000 - Counter Strike 1.6 Male (PC)
$40,000 - Counter Strike 1.6 Female (PC)
