GotFrag brings you a short look at ESWC 2006 as new photos and information finds its way through the news wire.

When we last saw ESWC compLexity took everyone by "storm", walking away with the first place prize of $40,000. Today, we have new pictures and information of the 2006 event to be held in The Palais Omnisports of Parics Bercy located in Paris, France from June 29th to the second of July. The four day long competition will have more than enough room for spectators, with seating for over 15,000 attendees. Over 800 competitors will compete in the event from 53 different countries.

"The 2006 ESWC Grand Final will again push back the frontiers of electronic sports. The main goal has always been to take video game competition to the level of a worldwide sport and an event for all. In 2006, ESWC is aiming bigger and higher than ever before and asserting its international leadership."

The self proclaimed "Greatest sports project of the 21st century" has also released the event schedule for the event, as well as some tidbits of interesting information and 3D images of the layout.

Now for what you've been waiting for, your first glimpse inside of ESWC 2006, located in The Palais Omnisports of Paric Bercy (one of the main indoor sporting Arenas in Europe).

"The ESWC Organizing Committee is proud to present the first pictures of the stage and main hall event design."

“Nothing is down to chance in electronic sports. It is all a matter of reflexes, psychology, training, and the ability to merge into a digital world and feel its force. We apply those rules in everything we give to the ESWC”, said Matthieu Dallon, President of Games-Services and founder of the ESWC.

You can expect GotFrag to have full coverage of ESWC 2006, so don't worry! Last year we covered both CPL Summer 2005 and ESWC 2005 at the same time due to a conflict between event dates. With the CPL's announcement of Summer 06 to take place between July 5th through 9th, you can rest assured that you will be able to catch every game here on GotFrag without having to worry about managing which event to watch!
