Dell has joined the World Series of Video Games as an official sponsor.
As part of the sponsorship agreement the Quake 4 tournament will be played on XPS M1710 laptop systems and the WSVG will “begin to feature gameplay on Dell plasma TVs and Dell UltraSharp LCD displays.” In addition, Michael Dell, chairman of Dell, will be on hand to present over $225,000 in cash and prizes to the Intel Summer Championship winners and discuss gaming with the victors.
“We welcome Dell as an official sponsor, and look forward to Michael Dell joining us at the upcoming event,” said Matt Ringel, CEO and President of Games Media Properties. “The Dell XPS lineup is synonymous with superb quality and performance and Dell’s participation in the World Series of Video Games is a great development for the entire gaming community.”
Dell will be on site displaying Dell’s latest XPS machines and holding a “Performance Shootout.” The Performance Shootout is a contest where the fastest machine benchmarked by the Dell engineers wins a 30-inch Dell UltraSharp 30007WFP Widescreen Digital Flat-Panel Monitor.
