Dell has joined the World Series of Video Games as an official sponsor. “We welcome Dell as an official sponsor, and look forward to Michael Dell joining us at the upcoming event,” said Matt Ringel, CEO and President of Games Media Properties. “The Dell XPS lineup is synonymous with superb quality and performance and Dell’s participation in the World Series of Video Games is a great development for the entire gaming community.” Dell will be on site displaying Dell’s latest XPS machines and holding a “Performance Shootout.” The Performance Shootout is a contest where the fastest machine benchmarked by the Dell engineers wins a 30-inch Dell UltraSharp 30007WFP Widescreen Digital Flat-Panel Monitor. Q4 on a laptop is going to be bad.
Anyway, I think this will be pretty bad for the gamers. Most of these guys are use to 19' monitors with high refresh rates, but a 17'(I'm guessing 17 is the max) and slow refresh? I don't know, I've heard good things about LCD's lately, but I'm not sure many of the gamers will like or can even play well with the change.

Dell does have good deals for prebuilt PC's and their laptops are very nice as well. Maybe not enough options for the hardware in the PC, but cheap. I've heard a rumor that they will soon sell barebone PC's o_O, maybe that will change some minds on Dell.
the lcd's on the other hand..........
ooo too funny
good counter #20 but lcdz? xps ofcourse however sometimes corps try to pull stuff over on the consumer thinking they don't know doodle. xps is an outrage for a rig imo. if they keep selling to the upper-class thats all fine n dandy but what about the poo fans man =)
but good sponsership
17" Wide-Aspect UltraSharpTM TFT Active Matrix WUXGA (1920x1200) display with TrueLifeTM
or am I reading this wrong? Are they going to have seperate monitors?
Michael Dell personally being at the Championship in Dallas is a bigger deal than of you realize. Dell is a major player in our sector now with this sponsorship and their purchase of the Alienware brand.
I for one am just as excited at the chance to meet Michael Dell as I am at the prize pool for first place. If the team wins, they get their cash, but I get to meet him and talk business.
Great move WSVG!
Also, if you think the XPS laptops can't handle Q4 then you've never used one. They're probably more powerful than 95% of the desktops we all use to game.
Good move all around.
Dell is a good sponsor, but why laptop? atleast do the new XPS700 desktop...
i think they should have done that with their desktop XPS line..instead of laptop but W.E ...wsvg is a complete joke anyways
and #8 , cpl owns wsvg...so yea......
WSVG= Bad
Seems to be a perfect fit then.
