All Games: Dell partners with WSVG

WORLD SERIES OF VIDEO GAMES ANNOUNCES DELL AS OFFICIAL SPONSOR OF INTERNATIONAL GAMING COMPETITION

MICHAEL DELL TO PRESENT WINNERS IN GRAPEVINE, TX EVENT JULY 6-9

New York – June 29, 2006 – The World Series of Video Games (WSVG) announced today that Dell, Inc. has joined as an official sponsor of the premier gaming competition series. As part of the sponsorship, the World Series of Video Games will feature all Quake 4 competitions on Dell XPS M1710 laptop systems, featuring Intel® Core™ Duo architecture. The WSVG will also begin to feature gameplay on Dell plasma TVs and Dell UltraSharp LCD displays.

Michael Dell, chairman of Dell, Inc., will join the festivities at the Intel Summer Championship in Grapevine, TX on Sunday, July 9 at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center. Mr. Dell will help to present over $225,000 in cash and prizes to the winners of the gaming competitions, and will meet with the winners afterwards to discuss future initiatives in gaming. The announcement was made today by Games Media Properties President and CEO Matt Ringel.

“We welcome Dell as an official sponsor, and look forward to Michael Dell joining us at the upcoming event,” said Matt Ringel, CEO and President of Games Media Properties. “The Dell XPS lineup is synonymous with superb quality and performance and Dell’s participation in the World Series of Video Games is a great development for the entire gaming community.”

In addition, Dell will be hosting a Performance Shootout. Dell engineers will have on display the fastest XPS 700 computer they are able to assemble. Gamers at the event can bring their computers to the Dell booth to have their computer tested on benchmarks. The person who scores the highest will win an award- winning 30-inch Dell UltraSharp 30007WFP Widescreen Digital Flat-Panel Monitor, presented during Sunday’s awards ceremony.

The World Series of Video Games (WSVG), presented by Intel, is the first international video game competition circuit on multiple gaming platforms. The WSVG circuit consists of eight national and international events where the top two winners of each category will be flown to the final tournament to be held later in the year where ultimate video game champions will be crowned.
