Tomorrow, Friday July 21st, marks the beginning of DirecTV's Championship Gaming Series via the inaugural invitation only event. The event is limited to four of the world's best teams; The United States' Team 3D, Complexity, and Jax Money Crew as well as Sweden's Ninjas in Pyjamas.

These teams will play single elimination matches in front of a live audience and DirecTV camera crews. The winners of the first set of matches will advance to the finals and try their luck at winning the Championship Gaming Invitational (CGI). All matches will be recorded and assembled into a broadcast set to air on DirecTV channel 101 on August 25th to 27th.

Tournament Format

▪ Single elimination with 9 Rounds per half; first team to 10 rounds wins
▪ In case of overtime; 1 sudden death round will determine winner of the match
▪ $7,000 start money during regulation
▪ $16,000 start money during overtime
▪ 1:20 round time
▪ 5 second freeze / buy time
