The location has been changed a few times according to inside sources but everything has been settled for Las Vegas, Nevada. The Aladdin Resort will act as the venue with over 175 gamers from America attending from September 15th-17th. Also over $75,000 will be given away in prizes for eight games.

The follow games that will be included in the event are; StarCraft®: Brood WarTM (PC), Warcraft®: Frozen Throne (PC), Half-Life®: Counter-Strike 1.6 (PC), Warhammer® 40,000: Winter Assault (PC), FIFA Soccer 06 TM (PC), Need for Speed TM: Most Wanted (PC), Dead or Alive® 4 (Xbox 360) and Project Gotham Racing® 3 (Xbox 360). USA comes in as the defending champion of WCG having won the gold for the Nations Award in the WCG 2005 Grand Finals. The USA walked away with two gold medals (Counter-Strike – Team 3D and Halo – Team 3D) and a silver medal (Warcraft 3; TFT – Shortround).

“Las Vegas and the Aladdin/Planet Hollywood Resort represent the ideal high-energy city and venue for an e-Sports tournament of this caliber,” said Michael Arzt, general manager and senior vice-president for ICM USA, organizers of the World Cyber Games USA Championships. “e-Sports fans will be treated to an optimum blend of entertainment and serious competitive video gaming, with America’s best gamers going to Italy to defend Team USA’s title as overall world champions of the WCG.”

The WCG 2006 Grand Final location was announced the previous year for Monza, Italy near the Switzerland border with Northern Italy. Over 56 countries will be represented in the largest nation versus nation event of the entire eSports year.
