All Games: CEVO chooses new direction without TsN

By: Jason Bass - Published September 12, 2006 at 8:44 PM EDT - Writer Archive
GotFrag sits down with Cevo's Wayne Ferguson and TsN's Hunter Luisi and takes a closer look at the split between these two organizations.

Earlier this year TsN and CEVO announced an exclusive arrangement that allowed for TsN to shoutcast all CEVO divisions. This was a big announcement for both TsN and CEVO. It solidified constant exposure for CEVO and formed a strategic relationship for TsN as well as gave TsN a consistent base of content. Early this morning a post was made on the TsN website announcing the dissolution of this agreement. There was not much said but an email from CEVO was posted in the piece. The contents of that post can be found below:

The original news post can be found on the TsN Site

After signing an exclusive agreement with TsN, and after almost a year of doing nothing but CEVO, it seems CEVO has decided to break their agreement with us. (see email below). Feel free to let CEVO|Ferguson know your thoughts on this. You can email him at wferguson@cevolved.com or message him on IRC.

If you don't know how much CEVO we do? Just look at our ondemand system or count the cevo logos on our front page.

--------------

Unfortunately, we feel that the relationship between Team Sportscast Network and CEVO has deteriorated to the point that we do not consider it effective to continue negotiations at this time. Effective immediately, TsN no longer has our consent to cover CEVO-generated content. This will remain in effect until further notice.

We thank you for your efforts over the past year and a half, and wish you the best with your future endeavors.

If you have comments, you may email us at executives@cevolved.com

This announcement tells very little and so GotFrag wanted to find out what actually happened. We gave both TsN and CEVO the chance to answer some questions on what took place as well as the events that lead to this break up of sorts.

An interview with CEVO can be found on the next page and an Interview with TsN on the 3rd page.
