All Games: CEVO chooses new direction without TsN

TsN Interview

Interview conducted with Hunter Luisi (TsN|Hunter), Chief Executive Officer TsN

TsN recently announced on their site that the agreement between CEVO and TsN had been dissolved, can you tell us what happened?

Because we hope to resolve this issue with CEVO ASAP, and due to the fact that we are still in discussions with them, we feel that discussing this situation further could cause more harm then good.

Was this something that just happened really quickly or is there a longer back story? If there is a back story can you share some details with our readers?

No this didn’t just happen. We’ve been in talks to CEVO for awhile now.

On the TsN announcement an email was shared with the public, do you feel that was the best way to handle this or do you regret that decision?

Given how this affects our online broadcast schedule, we felt it imperative to inform the community as fast as possible.

What do you think, if anything, this says about the state of business relationships in eSports today?

As with any new industry, business relationships take time to form and mature. Everyone has their set backs. But our goals still remain the same.

We continue to look for long term partners that will help the industry grow as a whole, while giving back to the community that forms and creates it.

What are TsN’s coverage plans moving forward?

Clearly TsN will be reworking its online coverage. As most know, we dropped a lot of our other league coverage to focus fully on CEVO.

This gives us an opportunity to bring back some of our CAL / TWL coverage, as well as expand further into other leagues like HTGN, SGL, ESL, etc.

Plus you can’t forget our event coverage. On Monday we fly to china for two different events (WSVG & Kode5), and then it’s off to downtown London a week later (for the WSVG UK).

Thanks for your time Hunter, do you have anything to add?

Thank you for reporting both sides of story.
