All Games: Further details released on the WSVG Finals

THE WORLD SERIES OF VIDEO GAMES ANNOUNCES FURTHER DETAILS FOR FINALS EVENT TOURNAMENT IN NEW YORK CITY DECEMBER 9-11, 2006
New York, NY-November 9, 2006-The World Series of Video Games, presented by Intel, today announced further details of tournament formats and tech specs for the Finals. The WSVG Finals will take place at the Chelsea Piers Sports & Entertainment Complex in New York from December 9-11, 2006.

The Counter-Strike 1.6 finals tournament will be hosted on Dell's XPS M1710 Laptop systems. The system features the Intel?Core?2 Duo processor T7600 (2.33GHz/667MHz FSB), a breakthrough in dual core performance with amazingly low power consumption. The XPS M1710 also includes 2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM, 100GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive, and Intel PRO/Wireless 3945 802.11a/g Mini Card (54Mbps).

Ten teams have qualified to compete in the Counter-Strike 1.6 tournament finals. Teams will compete in double-elimination brackets on maps: de_Dust2, de_Inferno, de_Train and de_Nuke for a grand prize of $50,000, Rolex watches and computer systems.

The Warcraft III: Frozen Throne finals tournament will be played on Dell M1710 Laptops and also feature the Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T2600. Nine finalists will face-off in double-elimination on maps: Lost Temple (ROC Version), Twisted Meadow, Gnoll Wood, Turtle Rock, Echo Isle, Terenas Stand, and Maelstrom 2.4. The grand prize is $20,000, a Rolex watch and a computer system.

The Quake 4 tournament will be played on custom-made Fatal1ty systems. The special edition module, exclusively packaged in a Fatal1ty Champion Series Case, will feature an Intel processor-based system, the ATI Radeon X1900X GPU, 1G of 512 Crucial DDR2 RAM, and the Creative Sound Blaster X-fi Fatal1ty FPS series. Eight finalists will compete in double-elimination brackets on maps: Galang, Monsoon, Placebo Effect and Phrantic. They are vying for a grand prize of $20,000, a Rolex watch and a computer system.

The Console tournament portion of the WSVG Finals will feature Halo 2, played on Microsoft Xbox version 1 systems, Project Gotham Racing 3 and Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter which will both utilize the Microsoft Xbox 360 systems.

Four teams have qualified for the Halo 2 finals tournament and are competing in double-elimination brackets on maps: Beaver Creek, Midship, Warlock, and Lockout. These teams are battling for a grand prize of $20,000, Rolex watches and computer systems.

The Project Gotham Racing 3 tournament has four athletes competing in double-elimination brackets on maps: Tochomae Loop, Bark to the Sun, Shinjuku Speedway, Shinjuku Skyscraper, Las Vegas Blvd Tour, The Grand Tour, The Outskirts, The Bridge Tour, Half F1 Circuit, Full F1 Circuit, The Birdcage, The Bulldog, and Trafalgar Tour. This tournament series is for a grand prize of $20,000, a Rolex watch and a computer system.

Two teams have qualified for the Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter finals tournament. In a double-elimination format, the teams will contend on maps: Boneyard, Nowhere, and Desert Gulch for a grand prize of $12,000.
