All Games: F.E.A.R. Combat GotFrag Invitational Wrap-up

A recap of the recent F.E.A.R. Combat GotFrag Invitational Tournament...

A few weeks ago, GotFrag invited some of North America's top F.E.A.R. Teams, to a twelve team format single elimination tournament, playing on the Conquer All game type. With only a few upsets, the cream of the crop came forward, ending the tournament in a classic finals match between Team Central Slayers and Doctors.

Looking back at the event, it wasn't exactly obvious that the Doctors were going to find themselves in the finals. Going into the event, Doctors seemed worried about the Conquer All game type, publicly pointing out the flaws in the mechanics, which read to many as weakness. Still, Doctors prevailed throughout the event with teamwork, experience, and skill, coming back from behind to beat Team Central Slayers by four points.

THE SEEDS:
1) Doctors
2) TcS
3) Headshot
4) Exigent
5) Kinetic
6) zhr
7) DH
8) Last Man Standing
9) dfr
10) HOT
11) Fortius
12) United 5

Looking at the seeds, they for the most part, played out accurately. United 5's pug wasn't able to show up, and with a sad end to Exigent's first match (being short handed during the final half of the match) against Kinetic, a match that Exigent looked to have had won by the early minutes, the seed upsets were fairly self explanatory.

The major surprise of the event was Last Man Standing, a team that was brought in last minute as a fill in for a team that was unable to play. They had a strong win over dfr, followed up by an extremely close match against the number one seeded Doctors. This match ended with a high energy last minute, which similar to Exigent, also sadly ended with a dropped player.
