Learn how to watch GotFrag TV You can download the plugin HERE. It is extremely easy to install. The only other requirements in order for Octoshape to work is that you will need to have ActiveX enabled and Java installed. Please make sure you have the Java runtime on your computer. For those without it, you can download it HERE. For more information regarding Octoshape, Click Here. Or Read the Octoshape FAQ. You can tell Octoshape is running because there will be an icon in your system tray. If you right click the icon, you can manage your Octoshape settings. Below is a screenshot of what the Octoshape settings look like, they are fairly straightforward. ![]() The settings shown in the picture above are what I (joeker) am currently using. #16 CPL will be fine even if steam does not come back up.
WEG masters used octoshape remember? i even have it on my computer
if ur thing starts to buffer octoshape will lag out for some reason
and sometimes it will even be unavailable
or is my VLC plugin for firefox messing things up? because it works fine in IE.
couldnt make a custom console ? instead of using the WM one? and trevor you should put the GF logo on your shirts :)
works great in IE though
good quality too
The plug-in performed an illegal operation. You are strongly advised to restart Firefox.
restarted, tried again, same error.
Opera requires the same plugins as firefox as it doesnt natively support the microsoft libraries, so get activeX, jre, and i believe default octoshape install is different from firefox and ie supporting one.
edit: and it is not the VLC plugin, as i just tried removing the plugin dll file from /plugins and restarting firefox, still same error as above.
But again nice work on this gotfrag, good luck on having a successful weekend^^
in octoshape.js:
octoPlayEmbedded() is called, it checks octoUsingProtocol(), which in turn checks navigator.userAgent value to see which browser user is using... so since im using "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1)", all conditions in the if are false, so false is returned.
in octopv_activexdisabled():
text.indexOf("msie") >= 0 is true (see above and toLowerCase())
var test = new ActiveXObject("Scripting.Dictionary") should throw an exception if the ActiveX plugin is malfunctioning, thus catch block is executed, so false is returned.
so... the ActiveX plugin is buggy, i think.
edit: yep, activeX seems to be broken, from firefox plugin faq:
Can I use ActiveX controls?
Yes, however, this is not advised.
There is an ActiveX plugin available for Mozilla. However, installing it can cause many problems, including crashes and conflicts with installed plugins. It is generally recommended that you do not install this plugin, unless you are specifically instructed to do so or are using it to solve a specific problem (and configuring it accordingly). If you install it and have problems, the only support you will usually get is "Uninstall the ActiveX plugin". You have been warned.
That link leads to http://www.iol.ie/~locka/mozilla/plugin.h.. as you can see the latest supported version is Firefox 1.5, i'm using 2.0, so problems are definately arising from the plugin.
Sorry firefox users, gonna have to use IE for this one.
#40 - Correct currently there is a active X problem in the web interface, but that will most likely solved by tomorrow by the gotfrag guys
#28 im guessing you will see a 700kb stream tomorrow right now the quality is at 500kb
#46 There will most likely be a lower quality stream available also.
#22 & 39 The WEG stream suffered problems because unstable server park at our end , not because of octoshape streaming services. We had huge problems with our servers at that event, i would be VERY surprised if you suffer similar problems.
