On Sunday, January 7th, the London (ON) Free Press reported that George “Spike” Finley was arrested again last Thursday, after the Canadian police caught him red-handed in the act of downloading child pornography. Although the boys reported what had happened to James O’Connor, the organization’s leader, the stories initially seemed too far-fetched to believe. However, after repeated instances, O’Connor investigated the accusations further, and eventually found them to be accurate. Shortly after discovering the truth, O’Connor informed Scott Epstein, a partner in the Green Berets, who subsequently informed the Canadian police. This led to Finley’s arrest, which was not his first run in with the law: in 1998 and 2005, Finley had served jail time for convictions related to pedophilia and child pornography. After serving four months of jail time in the first half of 2006 for the aforementioned conviction, Finley was released on bail; however, it hasn’t taken long for him to make the headlines again. On Sunday, January 7th, the London (ON) Free Press reported that Finley was arrested again last Thursday, after the Canadian police caught him red-handed in the act of downloading child pornography. The police had originally sought to find Finley at his home address in Bayfield, where he is required to stay as specified by his bail agreement. However, after they were unable to find Finley at home, the police tracked him to an East London apartment, where he was found and arrested for violating his bail conditions. Additionally, a computer was found on-site with in-progress downloads that were found to be child pornography according to the London Free Press: "They spun around and there was (a) computer humming away, actively in the process of downloading child pornography. They caught him red-handed, so to speak." After his arrest on Thursday, Finley was charged with failure to comply with bail conditions, possession of child pornography, and accessing child pornography. He currently awaits trial.
