To the GotFrag Community,

As you’ll read on the next page, GotFrag has been acquired by Major League Gaming (MLG). We will be joining one of the fastest growing and most successful competitive gaming organizations in the world. This is obviously very important and significant for not just those of us who work here at GotFrag but also to you, our community. So, I wanted to take a moment and share a couple of items with you.

First and foremost, I want to tell you what this means for GotFrag. For myself and the staff, we gain the support of an organization that understands gaming. While MLG has been primarily focused on console gaming, they truly “get it” and love competitive gaming in all aspects for the same reasons we do: Plain and simple—it’s fun. Their commitment to us at GotFrag is to support us 110% in our pursuit of the best damned eSports content out there, and that’s a commitment we at GotFrag make to you. 2007 and beyond promises to be the most exciting and fastest growing time for eSports. MLG’s support enables us to do more and do it better.

We intend to continue our tradition of unbiased, professional journalism which our staff has worked so hard to establish in this community. What you may see from time to time, is our frank and upfront disclosure that GotFrag is owned by MLG. That’s to make sure that we’re being honest with you about who owns us when we write an article about them.

We are absolutely devoted to continue our coverage of all PC eSports with every league and event worldwide. We will be ramping up on our console eSports coverage as well. Our relationship with MLG will clearly give us access at their events and leagues. But that doesn’t change the fact that all your favorite titles, teams and tournaments are still going to be on the front page with the same great editorial insights and coverage that you’ve always seen. And more. And better.

Secondly, I want to thank the entire staff here at GotFrag for their hard work and dedication. All of whom have been dedicated to doing more and better. All of these folks will be joining MLG and I will still be here as President of GotFrag.com. Personally, I’m very, very excited about our future with MLG for many reasons.

Most importantly though, I want to thank the entire community for your support over the past 5 years and 200+ events that we’ve covered. Over the years, you’ve contributed nearly 7 million (6,996,409 as of this writing) comments, posts and, of course, flames to GotFrag. That’s an awesome number and it’s a sign of just how involved we all are in eSports. All of us at GotFrag have always felt that our job was to inform and represent this community.

Thank you all again for being a part of this community. We’re all looking forward to continuing as the best eSports site out there.
