MAJOR LEAGUE GAMING ACQUIRES GOTFRAG.COM, RE-LAUNCHES MLGPRO.COM AND GAMEBATTLES.COM SITES

Aggressive online expansion further strengthens leadership position in competitive gaming

NEW YORK CITY—JUNE 6, 2007—Major League Gaming (MLG), the first professional video game league, today announced that it has acquired GotFrag.com, the competitive gaming community’s leading online e-Sports news source. Combined with its acquisition in late 2006 of Gamebattles.com, the leading online tournament site in the U.S., as well as the explosive growth of MLGPro.com, MLG is the definitive leader in competitive gaming news, entertainment, community and competition on the web. MLG properties accounted for over 75% of all page views and visits in the online competitive gaming space in April 2007, according to data from Hitwise, the online traffic measurement service.

“With the addition of GotFrag.com to the MLG portfolio, MLG has been able to bring together all of the top brands in competitive gaming in one place,” says Matthew Bromberg, president and CEO of MLG. “Our scale, following, and authenticity can't be found anywhere else in the marketplace.”

Founded in 2002, GotFrag is the leading online e-Sports news source, and covers a wide range of competitive gaming news and information. The site reaches 700,000 unique visitors a month. “Competitive gaming has always grown organically as the community discovers and enjoys new games and new ways to compete,” said Lee Chen, President and CEO of GotFrag. “As gamers, MLG understands and respects the independence of our community and we look forward to working with them to cover, promote and celebrate every aspect of competitive gaming, from grassroots grudge matches to world-class live events.”

As the dominant force in professional video gaming, MLG draws thousands of participants and spectators to each of its seven-city Pro Circuit stops, with televised coverage in 2006 reaching 90 million homes in the U.S. Alongside the leading U.S. Pro league, MLG has built the largest online community of competitive gamers. As part of its aggressive online efforts, MLG is re-launching both the MLGpro.com and Gamebattles sites with an array of new features designed to enhance its online coverage, community and competition.

The new MLGpro.com site features improved coverage of MLG’s Pro Circuit competitions, pros and competitive gaming news, extensive broadband offerings, social networking tools, blogging and other user-generated content. With the launch of MLG’s Gameroom, competitive
gamers can now upload and share game video directly on the site.

Gamebattles.com, which just held its 1,000,000th online competition, will re-launch in June with across-the-board improvements to its powerful online tournament system. With online tournaments across 40 different games, MLG’s Gamebattles acts as a “farm system” to identify the best players and give them the opportunity to compete year-round online and ultimately in the league’s thrilling live competitions.
