Once the glitz and the glamor of the broadcasted CGS draft was over and all of the team apparel had been handed out, there remained the ones who were not drafted. The teams and players who did not make the cut for paid positions within franchises. For them the gateway to the TV exposure was closed for the time being. However, there is hope. Not broadcasted, but perhaps just as important, were the following six rounds of drafting known as "Taxi Rounds".

The Taxi Rounds give franchise General Managers a chance to craft farm teams. The positions are unpaid but allow the players and teams selected to fill them a chance to prove themselves and earn playtime. While not quite what they were hoping for, the players and teams are walking away with something, which is ultimately better than nothing. The potential for a number of these choices to break through and replace the initially drafted players could be just the right tool to motivate and inspire them to achieve a new level of play.

Note: Due to a mistake by Jason Lake where he chose a player already drafted, his #38 draft pick was forfeited and he was given an additional choice at the end of the draft. Kat Hunter made the same mistake for the #60 pick and she was given the same option.
