The last day of the Electronic Sports World Cup is finally upon us, with only four teams left fighting for all the glory.
Day three of the competition saw the Swedish team Ninjas in Pyjamas having a hard time to reach the bracket stage, only doing so due to round difference between NiP and Dignitas.
Made in Brazil, following a surprising defeat in the match against the German side ID Gaming, was able to come out on top against Begrip Gaming, therefore having finished first in the group.
In group D, the hardest of them all, PGSPokerStrategy.cc had an easy path to secure qualification, while the Finnish squad 69°N-28°E was able to qualify to the next stage by defeating Meet Your Makers in the last group match.
In the quarter finals, PGS proved a strong figure following the easy victory over the Swedish side Ninjas in Pyjamas, who sees its name removed from the remaining competition. The current ESWC champions, Made in Brazil, was able to come out on top and defeat ALTERNATE aTTaX after a 14-16 loss in the first map.
The Semi Finals will now begin with two exciting matches. PGSPokerStrategy.cc and fnatic will face each other in that which will be the rematch of the Extreme Masters consolation final, where the Polish side won the game by 16-10.
This will the confront of two of the world's best players, Filip "NEo Kubski and Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg. With a long rivalry and the presence of some of the most talented players that are still competing, the match between PGS and fnatic will be one to pay attention to.
The other game will be played by NoA and Made in Brazil. Both teams have already showed their highs and lows this tournament, which is why none of them is interested in making the first mistake. Made in Brazil is undoubtedly looking for its second title in a row, whereas NoA has already defeated teams like NiP or Virtus.Pro and proved that it must not be underestimated.
