GotFrag eSports

The ceremony took place at the Games Convention event in Leipzig, Germany, with awards being given to recognize excellence in ten different categories.

In the Counter-Strike category, PGSPokerStrategy.com's star Filip "NEo" Kubski was recognized as the best Counter-Strike player, while 4Kings' Human player Yoan "ToD" Merlo won the same award but for Warcraft III.

Swedish player Quake 4 player Johan "toxic" Quick won the Best FPS Duel Player award.

Moreover, PGSPokerStrategy.com was recognised as the eSports Team of the Year and also saw Filip "NEo" Kubski grabbing the Player of the Year title.

yes they are a great team, id say the most consistant, but pentagram are currently the champions in WCG, ESWC, & Extreme Masters, so saying they don't deserve to be Counter-Strike team of the year is ridiculous, both pgs and fnatic deserve to have that title, the WCG coming up will say alot about who's really on top right now :D

It's a fact, because gotfrag is the only coverage, news, features etc web which is INTERNATIONAL and most important, objective compared to sites as sk-gaming. I just don't understand a website like readmore(which I've never heard of, seems like a german site) has won.

But well, maybe I'm wrong, I've never heard of readmore so maybe It's bigger then it is :)

gamegune was not a smaller follow up tourney this year they had all top teams there including PGS and PGS failed only 6th place.

Why are there awards half way through the year. If there was a poll taken now, fnatic would of won, and forrest would of won the best player award.

Has nothing to do with "fanboys" you f-cking tard, it's ignorance to say fnatic is the best team right now, that's all, i'd be saying the same thing if everyone was jumping on the "pgs is the best team" bandwagon, YOU CAN'T TELL UNTIL THEY PLAY HEAD TO HEAD. Guess what, ESWC = PGS > fnatic, that's the last time they played, so by your rules, PGS is better ya?

PGS has just won ESWC and GameGune came by like a week later and yes they bombed for some reason, who knows why really, but you ever think maybe most the teams were exhausted as hell after ESWC thus performing lack luster results @ GameGune?

Wow your excuse for PGS's performance at GameGune is pretty "ignorant", why don't I speculate a reason for fnatic not performing at their peak at ESWC but then shining at GameGune? Talk about fan boy.

I think what surprises me is PGS winning eSport team of the year, which is ridiculous because if the same merits are used to decide "eSport team of the year" and "CS team of the year", then what's the point having the award "eSport title of the year"? Might as well let the "CS team of the year" decide it. The CS team of the year is obviously between fnatic and PGS, where both teams clearly deserve it but what have PGS done BESIDES CS? Off the top of my head, fnatic's Q4, WoW and WC3 squad have collectively been far more successful than anything PGS has done outside CS.

Maybe overally fnatic as organization had better performance this year, but progress done by PGS is incredible. From considered by many as semi pro clan, they grown up to serious organization with one of top world Counter - Strike teams, decent Warcraft 3 team, and adding very good NFS player. Also they rented an office in Warsaw (PGS Gaming is now registered as a comapny), which was great step forward in polish eSports. Whats more, players are now monthly paid, whats still unthinkable for any other polish team. I think these are the reasons why they decided to give eSports Team of the Year award to PGS.

Also, in my opinion GotFrag should be awarded Best eSports Coverage because coverages here are always up to date, information from events is written down very quickly. Additionaly as someone before said GotFrag is truely international site in english, which is way popular worldwide than deutsch.
