The legitimacy of the Championship Gaming Series Singapore combine, draft and franchise has come under question as accusations of corruption on the part of the newly appointed general manager surface. ![]() Reuben Conceicao, long time leader and now consultant of the Singapore Counter Strike team Titans, has given his side of the story to GotFrag and has supplied GotFrag with the actual contract that was allegedly forced upon the players. Titans finished first in the Singapore combine but were not selected in the draft because they refused to sign the contract, Conceicao tells GotFrag. Conceicao says the team was told the official reason they were not chosen was for "unsportsmanlike" conduct. The Titans dominated the field at the Singapore combine, winning their finals matches in convincing fashion. Official statement from Reuben Conceicao: Before the event, several players from various games were approached by Chris Soh, the current GM. He informed them that he was going to pick players who signed a contract with him which would require them to give 50% of their total earnings in Asia (CGS Asia region included) to his private organization called the Singapore Gamers Association (SGGA). GotFrag has also received confirmation from other players involved that they were pressured to sign this contract before the draft by Singapore General Manager Chris Soh. GotFrag has contacted the CGS and they have declined to comment at this time. GotFrag has obtained a copy of the contract that was alledgedly forced upon potential draftees. The contract can be downloaded in PDF format at the link below: Contract UPDATE: CGS has released the following statement: Following the controversy surrounding last week’s CGS Singapore Qualifier and Draft, and after conducting a detailed investigation with all parties concerned, CGS and Chris Soh have mutually agreed that he will no longer serve as acting General Manager of the Singapore team. Effective immediately, Steven Yong will act as the League’s interim GM of the Singapore team. Steven is a seasoned veteran in competitive gaming and will manage the team until a permanent replacement is announced. |
