GotFrag TV introduces our first in a series of competitions based on user submitted content. Plus the unveiling of the Midway frag movie!
A few weeks ago, Jason "Alchemist" Baker made a wager. At the time, it seemed an insignificant statement; a declaration made in the face of a seemingly impossible situation that had about as much chance of happening as Jesuit returning to play pro Counter-Strike.
In his prediction of the match where Mug N' Mouse (who were coming off a 4-16 loss on top of having an unstable roster), would be facing off against the #1 team at the time eMg, Baker boldly proclaimed that if MnM were to win, he would create a Midway frag movie. Lo and behold, in a testament to Murphy's Law the boys from Texas took home a 16-12 victory and with it, Jason's dignity.
In the days following the outcome, Baker hid. Like a stage coach bandit laying low in his mountain hideout, he quietly waited and hoped that no one had noticed his error. Alas, only a short while after the upset, astute forum goers called Mr. Baker out and demanded he settle the debt on his bet.
Bitter in defeat, he began to put together clips from Midway's appearance at Rixhack 2005, where he had played in a pug that featured the likes of Cogu, Potti, Quick, and Vesslan. Finally, after long hours of tackling the problem of capturing the essence of the "Midway Frag", his movie was complete.
Presenting now, the world premiere of...
GotFragged: Midway
By: Jason "Alchemist" Baker
But wait! There's more!
While the movie was in production, the staff at GotFrag TV had an idea. Why not give the viewers a chance to have some fun with this idea? With SteelSeries putting up some great prizes, and Game Room's easy and accessible means to provide hosting, the "GotFragged Game Room Contest" was born.
This will be the first of a series of video submission contests based on a unique theme. That being said, in the spirit of the Midway movie, this contest's theme will be "GotFragged".
The Contest
GotFrag TV is looking for the best clips of yourself, your friends, even your favorite players being fragged in any PC game. We are turning the concept of a frag movie upside down, so get creative and have some fun with it! Take a look at the Midway movie and you will see exactly what it means to be GotFragged! Submissions will be judged by the GotFrag TV staff and prizes will be awarded to First, Second, and Third place following the deadline for submission. We have also added a Bonus prize that all who submit a video will be eligible to win!
The Rules
- The title must be in the format of "GotFragged: MovieNameHere". Your descriptive title will be in place of MovieNameHere. - All submissions must be uploaded into the category "Contest". To do this, select Contest from the pull down menu on the upload page. - Maximum of 3 entries per person. - You may create movies using clips from ANY PC game. The theme of showing people being fragged instead of doing the fragging is a central theme and must be adhered to for eligibility in the contest. - Keep'em clean. No swearing in the videos, censor it if you have to. This rule applies to song lyrics as well. - Try to keep them around the area of 2-3 minutes in length. - This contest is open to all submissions worldwide. - Submission deadline is 5:00pm EST on Friday, March 28th.
Failure to follow rules posted will result in submissions being ineligible for consideration.
Without Midway's unrivaled ability to produce some great "fragged clips", this movie would not be possible. In honoring that spirit, GotFrag TV will be awarding a piece of autographed Midway memorabilia to a randomly selected submitter. We are trying to get the pink hat, but negotiations are still ongoing. So even if you don't place top three, you can still win!
GotFrag TV would like to thank Trevor "Midway" Schmidt for his sense of humor and we hear he is starting to work on his own GotFragged movie submission, so look out Baker!
