The CPL has announced that all operations have ceased immediately. Dallas, Texas - The Cyberathlete Professional League, the once vanguard and pioneer of competitive professional video gaming, has closed its doors for good. The demise of this once dominating LAN league marks the end of an era in eSports and a passing of the torch to leagues such as MLG, CGS, WCG, ESWC and others. Below is an excerpt from the official announcement canceling all future events and ceasing all operations. Effective immediately, the Cyberathlete Professional League (CPL) will cease operations. Now somebody else needs to come up with a decent tournament (CEVO maybe?, They certainly have the user base and the proper reputation to take advantage of this)
