The nominees for the Seoul e-Stars Continental Cup have been announced. A total of three Warcraft III players and three Counter-Strike teams will be selected "50% from on-line poll result, 20% from achievements in 2007, 30% from the evaluation of the Continental Cup Committee." The online poll can be found at the e-Stars web page at www.estarsseoul.org. These players will meet from July 24 2008 to July 27 2008 to determine which is King ... the East or the West?

The Seoul e-Stars Continental Cup departs from the norms of most competitions in that it takes the form of a team competition (east versus west) where two match formats will be used: ThreeSome and Death Match. The "ThreeSome" format is similar to how the Warcraft league WC3L and the Korean Starcraft Proleague sort their team matches with each team or player playing one match versus a team or player on the other team. The team with the most match wins will be the victor. Death Match is similar to the NGL-ONE Warcraft system where a team or player will play until they lose.

It's an interesting concept and it's made even more interesting considering that all players in a team will receive the same amount of prize money. However, it is important to note that the specific prize breakdown and scoring structure have not been finalized yet.

On a side note Yoan "ToD" Merlo is not included in the voting due to the incident at the last e-Stars event where there was an argument over the tournament rules and he refused to participate.

I think a few of the west teams will shock some people, I don't think they will win but they will play better then most expect them to(like Dragon, XcN, XQR)

i think "Dragon" is not the "Wuhan Dragons" from CGS, because if it's the Dragon team that beat wNv in the KODE5 regional quali then it's NOT the team from CGS with jungle and tk.

Australian team should definitely have been looked at for the East.

I may be naive, but Galacticos vs. SQL-Gaming.. would've liked the Aussies to get a look in.

stensgaming of australia (previously iMmunity) beat XQR @ eswc.au '07 in the grand final on 2 maps in a bo3 very easily.

sql-gaming of australia (the old sql/everize team, not the new dna one) beat an XcN s1ut team incredibly convincingly in AINC '07 grand final too (although i realise there were only 3 XcN players).

and i may be ignorant but ive never heard of Galacticos or UMX :S , but yeh imo an australian team should have gotten a chance! :D

* Death Match: If one team or player wins, they or continues to play against another team or player
** ThreeSome: Each team�s manager decides the play order and the team or player plays one match. Meaning, 3 teams play against 3 teams, 3 players plays against 3 players in their own order directed by their manager.

Never seen this format for cs, should be interesting.

The reason i use GF is to achieve 4 nerd stars and look E-cool.

#46 well XcN is one of the teams that are winning right now.

it's actually L-Hai, Dragon, and XcN that are winning. after that it's wNv. for some reason eSTRO is getting beaten by all of the others who are nobodies.

So I take it that a lot of people don't like eSTRO? O_O
