The e-Stars Continental Cup has announced the winners of its online poll.
Two months ago, the e-Stars organization opened up a community poll for fans to vote on who they wanted to represent the two regions for the Continental Cup. The e-Stars Continental Cup sets up an East versus West battle with three competitors representing each of the two regions for each game.
In the west, the winners of the online poll for Counter-Strike is fnatic, Meet Your Makers and emuLate. For Warcraft III, Manuel "Grubby" Schenkhuizen along with Mykhaylo "HoT" Novopashyn and Kim "SaSe" Hammar led the vote count.
In the east, the Counter-Strike poll winners are e-STRO from Korea as well wNv.cn and Dragon from China. Warcraft III winners are June "Lyn" Park and Jae Ho "Moon" Jang from Korea and Xiao Feng "Sky" Lee of China.
The nomination process has not gone without controversy, however, as many teams have accused others of cheating in the community polls. The Continental Cup Committee was informed of these complaints so that they could take it into consideration when making their decisions. The online poll made up 50% of the nomination process, 20% came from achievements in 2007 and the remaining 30% from the Continental Cup Committee.
