EG to join the G7 teams. EG will send its Executive Director, Alexander Garfield, into the G7 Teams to represent the brand. "It's one of eSports' largest honors to have your brand be given the opportunity to have a voice in the G7, which has amassed such an impressive and elite array of brands and individuals," said Garfield regarding the invitation. "EG will certainly do its absolute best to make North America proud alongside Craig Levine and Jason Lake as the region's team representative to the G7." "We have been working with Alex in the past, especially regarding the CS Pro Mod topic," said Alexander T. Mueller, Spokesman of the G7 Teams. "Back then we had the feeling he could be an asset to our group and we started talking to him more intensively. At the ESWC Grand Final, we discussed the matter more and shortly after we decided to give EG the three months invite status to become a full member. We are looking forward to their input and are happy to have yet another representative from the northern American region." The invite status starts on 5th September and will end on 5th December 2008 with the goal to welcome EG as a full member of the group. |

If we're going by your standards, think about how many organizations weren't "impressive" at ESWC: I think you'll find that if you apply the same logic, you'd also have to place the same judgment on most of the other G7 brands. Regarding EG's WoW division, the team did well at both of the LAN events held this year thus far (the only objective criteria for ranking teams); thus, their placements have earned them the ranking #2 mentioned.
Of course, team rankings and/or placements at the ESWC Grand Finals (even though, as I stated, having so many people there in the first place is quite an accolade) are not the criteria for being invited to a federation as prestigious as the G7. There are a variety of organizational aspects that are taken into account, and even if you don't value those, I'm glad that my G7 colleagues did.
[Also, I just want to throw it out there that I'm fully aware that I'm arguing with a fake account here; I don't know who "BobbyD69" actually is, but I wish that the person would come out and openly criticize this decision as opposed to hiding behind a secondary Gotfrag account]
I do want to thank the G7 for this invitation, and we'll do our best to represent the region well.
ahahhahaahahahahhha (you're a pathetic faggot (nice life))
PS: Frag Domination!
we saw them kill a CPL...great..
what else do they do?
Why not band together to get CGS to use 1.6 or something along those lines?
Its great to see EG in G7, but G7 doesn't do anything so in a way my reaction is "big deal"
#24 They made their own ranking and they boycotted the last CPL into bankrupcy!
Then I can also imagine they are doing a lot behind the scene for esports.
i'd hardly call mister garfields' approach towards this topic as "professional". he might be a hardworking individual and doing his utmost best for e-sports, buti don't really see him being fit to join G7...
and isn't G7 like a elite society club? don't see them doing much lol
I'm glad to be a part of EG as the North American representative. Now more than ever America needs a good face for e-sports.
What?
Do NOT blame g7 for killing CPL.g7 boycotted the CPL not because they felt like it but because the teams were not getting paid, you know... money that the players need so they can support themselves, and felt like they should not be attending because of that.
So maybe g7 helped eSports out in that they were tired of seeing teams get scammed by the most well known lan tournament at the time.
g7 is kind of like a union I think. Reps from each team... Haven't done much that is news worthy but defiantly isn't just a waste of time.
GO G7!
I haven't heard anything in a long time, is it being worked on still? Is anyone still playing it?
With G7 now working with Alex will we see some progress?
its not about being a good team results wise, the G7 selects teams from an organizational standpoint and EG has been around for a very long time with no signs of folding so they deserve it more than pretty much every other NA team i can think of

#29
he was every bit a professional but kiddies such as yourself who jump on hate bandwagons labelled him as unprofessional because he didnt update you enough? thats sad on a whole other level. If i were in his position i wouldnt have given you kids a hint of anythign regarding promod until it was nearly complete because we all know that the CS community deals with change SOOOOOO well.
congrats alex this is well deserved
I have this same problem with my dentist named "Dental 2000" - I mean get with it.
