Effective immediately, G7 Teams has announced the ejection of one-year member PGS and founding member 4Kings and from the organization. 4Kings have seen dwindling success in recent months. Their new Finnish team only managed a third place finish at their national WCG Qualifiers, and according to manager Ian "Javax" Leckey, the British 1.6 team has made little impact on the European scene since being picked up in June last year. Although the British 1.6 team was cut from 4Kings yesterday, it would seem as though this move did little to sway the G7’s decision. PGS was added to the G7 last Summer after their 1.6 team won ESWC 2007. However, once the team left to join MYM earlier this year, they no longer had strong international 1.6 representation, and thus did not satisfy the G7’s requirement of having "players and teams that compete at the highest level on the international circuit." There was minor speculation that a scathing article published on SK Gaming was the catalyst for the changes, though the G7 did not mention it in their official statement. Instead, the statement cited activity and skill level as the primary reasons for removal of the teams. The official statement reads as follows: "G7 Teams is an affiliation of top professional e-sports teams and community leaders working together to better and develop professional e-sports. To achieve the goals that G7 Teams sets out to the community, we need our Members to be active and contributing members, community leaders in their respective e-sports markets, and to have players and teams that compete at the highest level on the international circuit. Effective immediately, founding G7 Teams member 4Kings from the United Kingdom and one year member PGS from Poland have been removed from G7 Teams." Following this announcement, the G7 now has nine members, including the recently invited Evil Geniuses. Current members are as follows:
