All Games: fnatic expands with Asian team

By: Lucas Bigham - Published December 02, 2008 at 11:29 PM EST - Writer Archive
fnatic E-Sports announced their newest expansion to StarCraft.
"Today marks another era in the RTS scene for fnatic. After our successful WC3 and DOTA teams, we felt it was the right time to add a Starcraft team. While some may percieve it as a merc move towards SC2's launch. We are very much interested in building up a SC community with fnatic.com," said General Manager Elroy Pinto.

For several days, rumors were flying around the community of this new team after reviewing the roster on their ICCUP page. However, today the rumor has turned out to be true.

"The players are top notch and while a few of them are unheard of their talent and skills over the next few months shall define fnatic.SC for years to come," Elroy Pinto adds.

The squad is made up of three former MYM players including their manager Andrik "Ash" Tan. SEn was widely known as one of the top non-Korean players during his prime, but after battling with inactivity for some time he has returned.

The remainder of the squad includes the well-known Chinese players Sun Yi "F91" Feng, Ding "JayStar" Wei, and Zhuang Chuan "Phoenix66" Hai. Liu Bo "lbh" Hao is known as a strong player within the Chinese community, but has yet to gain an international following. Gordon "JukeBox" Hoi is a longtime friend of Ash along with being a former WCG Singapore champion.

"I look forward to the day till we can finally be regarded as the best non Korean BW team like what MYM.BW is at the moment," Andrik "Ash" Tan said. "I can assure all of you that we will see more of the actions from our players in the near future."

The roster is the following:

China Sun Yi "F91" Feng
China Ding "JayStar" Wei
China Liu Bo "lbh" Hao
China Zhuang Chuan "Phoenix66" Hai
Taiwan Yang Chia "SEn" Cheng
Singapore Gordon "JukeBox" Hoi
