After 5 years of great prime content, GotFrag is officially announcing the end of GotFrag Prime subscriptions. We feel the time has come to make all content produced at GotFrag free and available to everyone.

Some things that you should know about what's now available to you:

Over 350 pieces of content, including the entire Behind the Gamer Archive, Match Recap Archive, Playbook Archive, tactical Breakdown Articles, CS 101 and 201 Archives, CS for Dummies and much more will be made free and available to everyone.

Download speeds will now be capped for everyone the same. We will look at increasing the overall download speed in the near future. Advertisements will now appear for everyone on the page.

We will continue to produce Prime-type content that will now be available free to everyone that visits the site. Playbooks, blogs, features and many of the past Prime content types we will be looking at to continue to produce and make available to all.

We would like to thank each and every person that bought Prime over the years for your contribution and loyalty.

***** IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR CURRENT SUBSCRIBERS *****

To thank you for your support of the site, GotFrag will be issuing pro-rated refunds from January 1st, 2009.

For example, if you signed up for a 3 month subscription on December 1st, 2008, you would receive a pro-rated refund for 2 months.

These pro-rated refunds will be credited automatically to the account payment method on file with us.

If you signed up for Prime with Paypal, you MUST cancel the subscription yourself. Unfortunately due to how Paypal works, we cannot cancel the subscription for you. You must do this within the next 30days or future subscription payments will not be refunded. If you signed up for Prime with a Credit Card, we will automatically stop billing and credit your account with a pro-rated refund as of January 1st, 2009.

You're all right, Prime's been kind of out-of-commish for a while and was really only a way to get rid of the ads (which I'm going to sorely miss) and a high download speed on demos. In it's "prime" (no pun intended), GF-P was pretty damn sweet, and the articles themselves were certainly what drove most of the subs, not the other added bonuses.

Gotfrag has yet to reach its full potential

prime content used to be available every week but then it stopped being produced so often and for a while completely halted

if gotfrag would stop being babies, they would hire me (for free) and i would write content for gotfrag in an appropriate and correct manner everyday! but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO gotfrag thinks they are a self-supporting cast with their main people that have been here since the beginning and are not fond of 'help' from outside sources

they dont accept demos, dont accept articles, seriously wtf

#19, you should fill out an application to be a writer for GF. They do hire volunteers, you know. They're only as self-supporting as their supporting cast allows them to be.

I remember I bought Prime to be able to connect to the servers without being kicked to give my slot to a Prime member. Then I got kicked by some VIP member because me and my friend were walking on each other's head (yes, this was right after the pubmaster's movie lol). Darn Partypoopers :D

Since I was cheated out of the Magazine, I was supposed to get a year of prime, but I never did. At least it's all free now.

I had prime for years but the lack of content recently was disappointing. It was a novel idea for a while but after the first year or two the lack of content showed.

Interesting move, even if they aren't updating the prime stuff, I'm sure there would be lots of users continue to pay for it lol.
