Team Evil Geniuses Partners with MSI Corporation

Los Angeles, CA -- (May 13, 2009), -- Micro-Star International (MSI), one of the world’s leading manufacturers of computer hardware products and solutions, today announced its sponsorship of Team Evil Geniuses (EG), North America’s premier professional gaming organization.

“We are excited to join forces with Team Evil Geniuses,” said Andy Tung, Vice President of MSI USA.  “We are looking forward to watching them continue their dominance of North America with the aid of MSI’s award-winning gaming notebooks and components. With the X-340, we are proud to bring such a thin yet powerful notebook to market. It truly is the optimal convergence of mobility, form, and functionality, and we are excited to put it in the hands of EG’s professional gamers.”

“For years now, MSI has been a household name on the grassroots level of PC gaming,” said Alexander Garfield, Executive Director of Team EG. “For our players and organization, it’s very exciting to partner with a company whose products we’ve grown to use and count on over the years. Pro gaming is a discipline in which even the slightest competitive advantage can be the difference between a crucial win and a heart-breaking loss. So we’re very excited about providing our players with the added edge of MSI’s high-performance gaming notebooks.”

MSI’s sponsorship of Team EG will be effective immediately, partnering the best professional gamers in North America with the power and performance of MSI’s high-quality gaming notebooks and components. Team EG players will be equipped with MSI notebooks, motherboards, and video cards for both practice and tournament competitions. More information on Team EG and MSI’s sponsorship can be found at www.myEG.net.

It's not really about looks in this market. It's about reach and exposure. EG commands plenty of attention and obviously is a good opportunity for some companies.

#15 1 picture? is that the best you've got? doesn't cut it.

EG is marketable. coL was the most popular team in the states back in the day and EG is coL... the only problem is that all of the coL fans were that exactly... compLexity fans... Jason Lake is the man and the reason for their success.

They do not deserve it and the sponsorship should have been given to teams like WICKED (ex MYM).

#22 it seriously doesn't matter how good they are. I don't get what you guys understand about that. EG is a huge name in NA. Is WICKED from NA? NO. They are EU. EU already has plenty of teams sponsored by big brand companies. From a marketing standpoint, why would they go sponsor another EU team? That makes no sense at all...

It doesn't matter if they deserve it or not. They are in the spotlight. You should be happy esports is still getting big name sponsors like this.

#25 It's actually criminal in my opinion. They have old superstars that since they have come back can't do diddly squat. Waste of MSI notebooks if you ask me. I will never support EG until they start showing potential. Maybe they can't figure out they just can't hang anymore.

Once again EG does not deserve it because they still get owned by Asian and European teams.

not a bad sponsor, but ASUS is still supreme!
it'd be awesome if they can get their netbooks, laptops, vid cards, and mobos.

Since when is an organization is just the CS team itself? Both fnatic and EG are multi-game organizations, not CS teams.

that MSI X-340 is a f'in sweet lookin laptop, not the greatest specs theres no way EG uses these unless they added a better graphics card and processor than the stock ones, plus a 13.4" display is weak also, I think teams should look into HP as a sponsorship, their blackbird PC's are redic and they are the largest PC company in the United States
