All Games: SK-US Does it again! US-Blizzard Regionals Recap

Well Thens Expected Triumph

While on the topic of Well Then lets take a look at this teams history and possible future in professional WoW. Two of the members of this team originally were part of one of the most feared 5's teams of all time TehSuperGosu's or for short TSG. Veex and Valrath have proven time and time again that people from PvE servers aren't always the dragon slaying experts many people claim them to be. Veex is one of the few people in the world with all of the 1st place finish titles (Merciless Gladiator, Vengeful Gladiator, etc).

A team with such a reputation is obviously not one to be reckoned with and with the recent addition of Paladin Class hero Zilea, they were without question one of the most feared and respected teams of this tournament. Veex, who originally played Warlock, recently rerolled Warrior at the beginning of Season 5, and I must say playing a warlock in comparison to a warrior is quite the downgrade when it comes to the skill the class actually requires. So there's no doubt in my mind that Veex is one of, if not the top, warrior currently in the US.

What impressed me about this team the most was there ability to play so flawlessly on LAN. Even though it was their first rodeo, these guys took it all the way to the #2 spot with ease and I would be expecting all teamless sponsors to be jumping on them after seeing that $6,000 check. I think Well Then has a very bright future in Pro WoW and I would expect to see them at many future tournaments of this year.

A Wild Rogue Disappointment Appears

Lets get into some of the surprises to myself. A Wild Rogue Monkey appears was one of the teams that my personal team has had an epic amount of struggle against on the TR. I expected these guys to come in and upset a lot of unprepared teams. With the uncommon lineup of Hunter, Mage, and Shaman I can say this is one of the most frustrating teams I've ever come across. Literally not being able to move your character for an unbelievable amount of time, this team is heavily CC and snare centric (something you don't see very often other than RMP).

While he may or may not be the team leader, Jatts has always stood out to me as an excellent shaman and was worthy of a solid finish in this tournament. Perhaps due to a bad seeding or "LAN jitters" this team didn't perform as well as I expected them to, but I would assume they will have continued success in upcoming online tournaments and ladder play.

Team America F**k Yeah!

Team America is what comes to mind when the words SK-US pop into my head. After struggling in Hannover with team captain Serrenia, Realz (Team Priest) set out to form a roster of his own. He wanted one hell of a roster and that is exactly what he found. After picking up Team Stud Muffin's Pookz and Enforcer, a well known rogue amongst the WoW community. These guys have been the most dominating force of this early tournament season. After a first place finish at MLG Columbus and now a first place finish in the Blizzard Regionals, these guys have redefined the words "All Stars".

One of the things that will never cease to amaze me is where other RMP's struggled, Team SK-US dominated IE. Team eMg's RMP destroyer was quickly shut down 3 consecutive series in a row, while other RMP's like Ensidia (Hydra, Kalimist, Redhot) and compLexity couldn't even make a dent.

With new team captain, Realz, this team is going to be around for a very long time as he is constantly pushing his team to the limits. He likes to theory craft new specs and gear selections between every match. With the brute force that Enforcer brings, and the insane finesse and shot calling Pookz brings along with the brains of Realz, it would not suprise me if these guys walk home with the $75,000 check one month from now at the Blizzard World Tournament. No one can say for sure, but I certainly would not put an ounce of second thought into SK-US taking home the gold.
