All Games: Behind the curtain with team TSG (Well Then).

In this article GotFrag takes a deeper look into team TSG (Well Then), the second place finishers at the Blizzard US-Regionals.
With the Blizzard world finals just around the corner, I got the chance to sit down and have a one on one with Veex. A prestigious warlock with an immense amount of online reputation and now a second place finish at the Blizzard Regionals.

Hi veex, for those that don't know you would mind giving a brief background about yourself?

My name is Ben, I've been playing WoW since early closed beta and have extensive experience with all classes except paladin and death knight.

What server do you currently call home and what compositions are you playing in all 3 brackets?

I'm currently playing on Executus under the name Veev. We have a 2950 rated 3v3 team using our main comp of warr/dk/pal though I haven't put much focus on the other two brackets this season. My personal armory can be found here. My teams armory here.

Which classes did you focus on primarily throughout your career, and what class would you say is your favorite?

I have put the most hours into mage, hunter, warlock, and warrior (playing them in that order), but have also played druid, shaman, and rogue at max level. Although I am rather tired of it now, I would have to say warlock is my favorite class. The play style of the class just fits naturally to my own. But playing so many classes has given me a considerable advantage in PvP, knowing exactly how they operate, how to exploit their weaknesses, etc. You really have to just play a class to get a good feel for it, something that reading a spell list or talent tree can't do for you.

Can you see yourself playing a warlock again post 3.2 or is a warrior now the class you'll focus on the most?

That depends on when the patch happens. It's still not certain if Blizzard will be patching before or after Blizzcon. Apparently if they do plan on patching before then they will do it more than just one week in advance (learning from their previous mistake), in which case I am planning on going back to or at least heavily practicing my warlock for the tournament. If the patch is not until after then my warlock days are probably over as I am planning on quitting for Aion after Blizzcon.

Do you feel like a warlock centric composition would have a stronger chance at winning the world finals if Blizzard releases 3.2 before Blizzcon?

I definitely believe so. One of the hardest parts of WotLK arena for warlocks has been the revamped mage class. In TBC warlocks for the most part were considered a strong counter to mages, we still had spell lock resists to worry about back then but it was a minor concern when they could be so easily CCd with full duration fears, stronger curse of tongues, etc. Now not having spell penetration for your pet just incredibly weakens what little we have left to use against mages, and when warlocks are finally in position to deal with mages again I think you'll be seeing a big shift in the warlock class representation. The resilience change should also heavily favor the warlock class, more so than most others.

Lets talk about your teammates. I've always known Valrath to be a very versatile player playing both Mage/Rogue at a very competitive level. When did he start playing a deathknight?

I don't believe he ever even touched one until several months into the expansion. When we began playing on the tournament realm with him as a death knight, he had only had a month or less of experience on the class. Needless to say he picked it up very fast.
