All Games: Behind the curtain with team TSG (Well Then).

Q: Tell me about the first series against EG, I know RLS isn't very strong against your particular line-up. Why do you think the first series went the way it did, and what did your team change to end up winning the semi finals just a day later?

A: We went in with maybe a little too much confidence, knowing we had the comp advantage and knowing their team had not performed well at the last tournament. 15 seconds into the first round I could tell we didn't really prepare ourselves for how well they were about to play. They played really, really well. I honestly feel they out performed any other team there, but unfortunately that doesn't always determine the winner. We also went in with some faulty strats, I was attempting to kill the Felhunter the last 2 games of the first series, which for whatever reason just wasn't working out. I guess Kollektiv was doing a really good job of keeping it alive when most healers let it fall down in a few swings, and if I dedicate a full rage bar and 5-10 sec of globals on a pet... and it doesn't die, that means that warlock probably just unleashed hell on our team and we paid for it. The second series we were better prepared, we had better strats, and we just played a bit better all around.

Q: If Blizzard released patch 3.2 prior to this tournament, do you feel EG would have won? Obviously we're all unaware of the full outcome of this patch, however it is clear that that Shamans and Affliction Warlocks are being buffed, and RLS itself will be better overall.

A: They probably would have beaten us and secured a spot for Blizzcon, and it wouldn't surprise me if they'd have been able to beat SK as well.

Q: What are your thoughts on SK-US's performance. How would you compare the games verse them to the games verse Complexity? Are they overall a stronger team or was it a variant in strategy? Can we safely say they're the best PMR in America?

A: Complexity just played poorly. I hate to say anything bad about them since I think they're all good guys but they just weren't playing on the level they needed to be. When you watch our games vs. Complexity you realize why people think our comp counters RMP, charge/bladestorm the priest once and it's over, queue faceroll remarks etc. But once the two teams are on the same skill level the match up changes drastically, and you can see if anything how RMP may counter us to some extent. SK played very well, much better than Complexity, but I'm not sure if I would declare them the best RMP in America. Even though we lost 3-1 vs SK I still didn't feel the same kind of pressure or coordination that I have experienced from Bilian's RMP that we have played on live numerous times. I would really like to arrange some scrimmages vs SK on the tournament realm to see how we play them in a more comfortable environment, maybe they're worse or on par with Bilian, or maybe they completely blow them out of the water. It's just too hard to tell in a short session of games with no time to adapt and many other elements in play.

Q: Looking in to Blizzcon just a few weeks away. Which teams are you preparing for the most? Are you worried about the Koreans being they make quite a rumble every time they play in an international event?

A: Honestly I still haven't done all my homework in finding out who we'll be playing and when, I'm still most concerned about SK but I'm guessing the brackets will be set up in a way that we wouldn't play them until the finals. I wish I had more knowledge and experience against the other regions but I can't say I do really, we will be preparing for whatever possible comps we think the teams are capable of running though, and will be less concerned about the actual players on the team since I don't think it does us much good to worry about any hyped up super players.

Alright veex well we appreciate your time and good luck in the world finals, any shout-outs or comments?

Thanks for your time. Shameless plug for our guild I guess, to any mature and skilled players interested in trying out Aion we are already recruiting, you can check us out at voodooguild.net.
