eStars returns in 2009 with a similar, yet slightly different format compared to last year's.

The teams are broken down into East vs West, with mTw, fnatic, and SK playing for the West, while Wemade FOX, k23, and Tyloo represent the East.

Friday at 1:30 AM EST, the event kicks off with the Threesome stage. In a Threesome match the coach will assign teams to play on predetermined maps, they then face off against the opposing teams that were assigned to the same map.



This stage will be followed by the Deatmatch stage, tentatively scheduled for 3:30 AM EST. This can be more literally translated as a King of the Hill style structure, where one team from each side will faces off on a predetermined map. The loser will be eliminated, while the winner moves on to face the next team in line, until all teams from one side are out.



All of that is exactly the same as last year's event. However, this year, much to the joy of fans, they will also be holding a King of the Game tournament. On Saturday and Sunday, the East vs West titles will be forgotten, as it will be every team for themselves. A round robin format will be used where every team will play each other once. The top four teams from that stage will move onto a single elimination bracket, to determine the best team at the event.
