EG has added a CTF team just in time for QuakeCon 2009. At the helm of this team will be long time EG Quake professional Tim “DaHaNG” Fogarty. He will be joined by Sabian “clamp-ok” Hayblum, Vijal “viju” Patel, and Andrew “id” Trulli. Together, the team has enjoyed much success and has already made their mark on the Quake Live CTF scene, quickly making their way through the ranks to become one of the top North American CTF teams in the game today and a heavy favorite going into the QuakeCon CTF tournament. While this is only a temporary acquisition for the upcoming event, the organization is proud to have this team representing us. “When Tim first approached me and asked me if we would assist in fielding a CTF team under the Team EG banner, I was more than ecstatic to have EG supporting them,” said Scott Smith, Managing Director of Team EG. “The team is made up of fine individuals, all of whom are extremely good at what they do and professional in how they do it.” "I'm really excited that EG is willing to send a CTF team to QuakeCon," said Tim "DaHaNG" Fogarty, the team's captain. "I think the decision was definitely a good one for the organization, and the team is really looking forward to representing them." We have conducted an interview with one of the new team members, Sabian “clamp-ok” Hayblum: Thanks for taking the time to do this interview for us. For those who might not be familiar with the Quake scene, who are you and what is your history in eSports? Hey my name is Sabian Hayblum and I play under the alias "clampOK". I started competitive gaming when I was around 15 with Doom 3 where I quickly became a top American dueler, and I then transferred over my skills to Quake 4. In Quake 4 I had some good results as a dueler, including the top American placing at QuakeCon 2006 (7th i believe) as well as ESWC 2006. I also played Quake 4 TDM for Blackdragons with much success and am now playing CTF for Evil Geniuses Speaking of the new EG CTF team, can you give us a quick run down of each player on the team and their role? Sure. Well first off let me start of by saying how happy I am with my current roster as all the players on the team are highly talented and bring something special to the table. I’ll start with DaHaNG as we both played Q4 TDM for Blackdragons and have known each other for quite some time. Click Here to view the rest of the interview. |
