By: Mark Haney - Published November 03, 2009 at 8:37 PM EST - Writer Archive
k23, the pride of Kazakhstan and one of the longest standing teams in Counter-Strike, have made some last minute changes for the World Cyber Games.

The Kazahk all stars, have decided it was time to change up their roster for WCG, swapping out two long time k23 members, Mikhail "MihaO" Makashev and Alysher "Turbo" Bakyev. k23 has made very few roster changes over the past few years and has been synonymous with consistency since its birth. One of oldest and most supported organizations in the world, k23 has shown even they can conform to the pressure of performing.

Despite weak performances at recent tournaments, k23 came back swinging at IEM Dubai, placing 5th-6th and beating teams like SK-Gaming and Mousesports in the process. They decided to pick up former k23 member, Alexandr "beAST" Yakovlev and Rustem "mou" Tlepov. This marks Yakovlev's return to k23 since his departure in August. k23 have stated that these are temporary replacements for WCG only, and after the event they will decide on their final roster.

k23's WCG Roster:

Kazakhstan Malik "N1ck3L" Sualirov
Kazakhstan Anvar "Anv1k" Nassyrov
Kazakhstan Dauren "Adrenaline" Kistaubaev
Kazakhstan Alexandr "beAST" Yakovlev
Kazakhstan Rustem "mou" Tlepov
