All Games: Match Preview: EG vs. Button Bashers

The American EG squad goes up against Button Bashers of Korea in a highly anticipated Friday night matchup at MLG Anaheim

GotFrag.com - The first match of the day will be Korean team Button Bashers vs. U.S. team Evil Geniuses.

This promises to be a very fun and strategic match as crowd favorite Orangemarmalade and the rest of team Button Bashers looks to come back from an upsetting tied for 6th place finish during August’s MLG Dallas. Team Button Bashers will be running their very familiar Priest, Mage, Rogue comp, and look to come out with a win here in sunny Anaheim, California!

Standing in their way is team Evil Geniuses. Evil Geniuses has yet to compete in a tournament since MLG Columbus back in June, where they finished in a three-way-tie for 6th. Team Evil Geniuses has since made some drastic changes to their team lineup. Both zyZ and kollektiv have been moved to the inactive roster, leaving warlock ‘Azael’ as the only original member of the team. Taking the places of zyZ and kollektiv are rogue Smatin and shaman Tenderloin.

This match will prove to be a tough one for team Button Bashers, as Lock, Rogue, Shaman is a fairly decent counter comp to their Priest, Mage, Rogue. Although team Evil Geniuses did lose to SK Asia’s Priest, Mage, Rogue combo back in the Global Finals in Hannover, Germany, SK’s mage, Kwana, was speced arcane. It will be a little more difficult for team Button Bashers since Orange Marmalade tends to prefer his frost spec, though we have seen him as arcane before.

All in all, this is shaping up to be a great match, and team Button Bashers is going to make sure that team Evil Geniuses is on their A game if they are going to walk away with the W!
