Quake: CPL increases Quake 4 Tournament

After holding a poll, the CPL has decided to expand its Quake 4 tournament at the upcoming CPL Winter 2005 event. The expansion will see the number of tournament spots double from 128 to 256.
Only a few days ago, the Cyberathlete Professional League setup a poll to ask the gamers whether or not they would like to see an increase in the number of spots of available for the Quake 4 tournament. According to the CPL, after an "overwhelmingly positive" turnout with 80% of voters wanting a tournament increase. Therefore, the CPL has announced that they have doubled the size of the Quake 4 tournament from 128 to 256 slots. Registration will open this Friday, October 14th, 2005 at 10:00am CST and will be on a first come first serve basis. The tournament will be held from December 14th to 18th at the Dallas Hyatt Regency Hotel.

The initial 128 spots filled up in under twenty hours, make sure to not wait around when October 14th rolls around and get signed up as soon as possible. Many top named players have already registered for the event. This list includes: Fatal1ty, vo0, Zyz, Ztrider, destrukt, wombat, daler, Stermy, SteLam, gellehsak, Zaccubus and many more. The CPL has been conducting a forum poll, requesting that the community of gamers help the league decide if it should increase the size of this Winter's Quake 4 qualifier.

After just a few days, the response has been overwhelmingly positive, with a solid 80% of voters indicating that they want the competition to be increased.

Instead of delaying its decision until the conclusion of the poll, the CPL has already decided to increase the size of the Quake 4 qualifier to 256 spots.

The online registration, with the additional spots, will launch at 10am CST (8am PST - 11am EST) Friday, October 14, 2005, on a first-come first-served basis only.

Pre-registrations will not be accepted.

The Winter Championships taking place from December 14 to December 18 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dallas, Texas will host the $30,000 Quake 4 qualifier.

Dude the best tournaments offer 1,337 tournament spots..I am sure they will get the message at CPL and make Summer that.
