They should run q4 fine, especially if the players are allowed to config the game.

Why not 7800GTX? They should be aiming to have the game looking as good as possible at high FPS to attract people.

#9 The projectors that will be displaying the game(and matches once it gets down to good players) will probably be running the highest settings and better hardware.

Nice computers.

What do they do with them after CPL? Donate them? Sell em?

I was really kind of hoping that they would have 7800 GTX's SLI'd or at least 7800 GT's SLI'd. I have a 7800 GT in my computer right now and I run it at 1600x1200 at high quality with aa and as on. I wonder if I'd be able to do it on a 6800.

#16 do you think that the top players would even want to play the game in 1600x1200 with the settings maxed?

i would assume that the good q4 players are probably the good q3 players, and they're probably pretty used to sacrificing eye candy for performance.

i think those computers will be easily able to get 60 fps constant with moderate settings, and that's all most competitors probably ask for.

i use a amd 64 3200 @ 2.7 ghz and a 6800 gt @ ultra speeds and I get 60 fps constant never drops at 1024 / highest details. Those comps are just fine for cpl.

try a freaking dm server with 15 people. i kills my computer. i have a venice 3500+ with a 6800 gt 1 gig corsair.

I know q4 is 1v1 but still, i hate having a good computer and having to worry about fps.

Honestly the only winning product from either Intel or Nvidia is the 7800GTX, and they choose not to showcase it at their events? Dumb marketing if you ask me. We all know AMD > Intel by far in games, so at least make up for it with good Nvidia hardware instead of garbage 6800GTs...

#23 keep in mind that you will have *one* computer which is better than the ones used at CPL, of which there will undoubtedly be many.

Also, I can't help but wonder why these PCs require 160GB of hard disk space. Seems a bit excessive.

Very CPU-stacked, which does make some sense when you consider how Intel, and not Nvidia, is CPL's biggest sponsor. However, it is pretty illogical to use computers each with a $1,000+ dual-core CPU and a single video card that's $400 tops for a game that uses an engine that's very dependant on the video card rather than the CPU.

some of you guys should look at yourself and have a big laugh.#9 #16 #19 #22 #23

oooooooh the game won't run smooth on a 1600x1200 resolution with high quality settings. boohoo.

Have you ever seen Q2 and Q3 matches? some of the guys even played without textures...
and AFAIK professional players use rather low resolutions.

+ why whine, you won't play there
+ It is the same for everyone, so doesn't matter.
+ it is probably a better system than 90% of the existing system atm
+ be happy you get that box to play on in a tourney.
+ why an intel cpu and nvidia card? SPONSORS ? duh
