The Cyberathlete Professional League has posted information on their website about their upcoming Quake 4 tournaments. The 256 man tournament to be held this December at the Winter 2005 event has been maxed out, including its 10 man waiting list. The CPL is also holding a 64 team Counter-Strike Qualifier tournament for next years 2006 World Series. This will be the last CPL event to be held at the Hyatt Regency in Downtown Dallas.

The CPL is also planning to hold the largest ever Quake tournament, with 512 available spots at the Summer 2006 event. The Summer CPL event will be held from July 5th to 9th at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine, Texas. This Quake 4 tournament will have a total prize purse of $200,000 USD. Registration will open up this Thursday, November 3rd, 2005 at noon CST. You will be able to sign up for the tournament here. More information will be released about the 2006 World Series in the coming months and at the Winter 2005 event.

WINTER 2005

On October 31, 1997 the CPL launched its first tournament using Quake 1 and offered $3,000 in prizes.

Exactly 8 years later the CPL announces that its $30,000 Quake 4 Winter Qualifier is now full.

The Winter Quake 4 qualifier has 266 registered gamers from the following 18 countries: USA, Sweden, Canada, UK, Australia, Germany, Norway, Austria, Mexico, Spain, Russian Federation, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands, China, Switzerland, Netherlands Antilles and Ireland.

SUMMER 2006

The CPL also announced a few important details in relation to the Summer Quake 4 Tournament to take place at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine, Texas, July 5 - July 9, 2006.

This tournament will be the largest Quake tournament ever hosted by CPL, with 512 competition spots and $200,000 in cash prizes. The online registration will launch on Thursday, November 3, 2005 at noon CST. Admission is $100 until January 1, 2006 when admission will increase to $125 per person.

Qualifiers for this tournament will be announced in the upcoming months.
