Quake: CPL Launches Quake 4 Summer Registration

The Cyberathlete Professional League has launched registration for their Quake 4 Summer 2006 tournament. The event will be held from July 5 to 9 at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine, Texas.
The CPL has announced that the registration for their upcoming Quake 4 tournament at the Summer 2006 event has opened. This will be a massive event with 512 available competitive spots as well as a $200,000 USD prize purse up for grabs. And this is for Quake 4 alone. The tournament will be held from July 5th to 9th at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine, Texas.

The prize distribution for the Quake 4 summer tournament will be as follows.

The CPL has launched the online registration for the Summer Quake 4 Tournament to take place at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine, Texas, July 5 - July 9, 2006.

This tournament will be the largest Quake tournament ever hosted at CPL, with 512 competition spots and $200,000 in cash prizes. See prize distribution.

BYOC and/or competitor admission fee is $100 per person until January 1, 2006, and then increases to $125. Spectatator passes are $25 per person.

The summer event will also host a 2,000-person BYOC area.

A total of 1,500 rooms have been blocked at the Gaylord Texan Resort for attendees of this event. The discount rate will be $125 single/double and $129 triple/quadruple. Reservation information will be released early next week.

cool, big step for esports, I would like to see some info on the other tournaments (cs) though.

they just havn't annouced cs yet...if its $200,000 at every stop...man thats nuts.

Q4 is the 1v1 game, so I assume its for 1 person. CS is the main team game.

lol if you think the first place is a lot.. check out the wt finals. Its 150k for first place and about the cs prize pot, angel stated on the other thread it would be more than the q4 pot. So im atleast thinking 300k for cs.

#18 I can't see one person dominating Quake4 - there will be so many top players competing around the world now that the DM scene is uniting. I imagine there will be a 'circle of elite', though.
