Quake: cha0ticz to miss ESWC

By: Luis Mira - Published June 28, 2006 at 2:57 PM EDT - Writer Archive
The American Quake 4 player, Jared "cha0ticz" Cugno, has just announced that he will not be participating at ESWC.
Jared "cha0ticz" Cugno, a Quake4 player for Check-Six, was selected as one of the American representatives at the upcoming ESWC. Since there was no US qualifier, an invitational process was created to select the American participants at the ESWC finals.

Cugno, along with compLexity's dueler, Jason "socrates_" Sylka, were selected to represent the United States in Quake4. However, it appears that Sylka will be alone in France as Cugno announced that he is unable to attend ESWC 2006.

"I was told a ticket had been purchased for me, and only found out today that didn't happen," Cugno said to GGL. "I immediately tried to contact Rafik "LoSt-CaUsE" Bryant and get him out there to replace me, but he had the same [cost] problem as me."

Since the ESWC finals will kick off in two days and the registration begins tomorrow, it is very unlikely that the United States will have two Quake 4 representatives. Therefore, compLexity's player, Jason "Socrates" Sylka, will be the sole US and North American representative.

When contacted, Rich Howard, Check-Six's owner and president, did not want to comment on this issue.
