Barrie, Ontario (GotFrag) - As many had expected and speculated would happen, Team EG has just announced the signing of Quake 4 player, Andrew "gellehsak" Ryder. Ryder, 19, was part of Team Fnatic who had a very strong trio for last years Painkiller World Tour. The team consisted of World Tour MVP Sander "Vo0" Kaasjager, CPL Chile Champion Alexander "Ztrider" Ingarv, as well as Ryder. Gellehsak's year was highlighted by his second place finish in Chile behind Ingarv where the team would grab the one, two, three podium finish with Kaasjager coming in third. Andrew also won both of GotFrag's invitational Painkiller tournaments in 2005.

Ryder also attended the recently concluded Cyberathlete Professional League Winter Extreme Championships in Dallas, Texas.

The event was held from December 14th to 18th and saw some top players go head to head. Ryder managed to place in the 13th to 16th while winning $300. Gellehsak was sent to the Lower Bracket early on in the second round after losing to China's Meng "RocketBoy" Yang. He would make a run through the Lower Bracket defeating players such as Mark "wombat" Larsen and Alejandro "elpajuo" Gonzalez before meeting up once again with Yang. This time, however, Ryder would get the last laugh as he would take RocketBoy down in three maps. This would be as far as gellehsak would go as he would fall to Brian "destrukt" Flander in the following round.

Ryder will be joining a very strong EG organization that has two highly successful gaming divisions already. Team EG's Counter-Strike division placed second at the Summer 2005 CPL and 9th to 12th at the Winter event. The team also represented Canada at the World Cyber Games in Singapore as well, where they would place third. Just prior to the World Cyber Games Grand Final tournament in Singapore, EG announced the addition of their Halo 2 division. Two of the four players, Jason The and Nelson Triana, were the Canadian representatives for Halo 2 and placed a strong second behind the American team which consisted of Team 3D's OGRE twins.
