Quake: VIA Q4 Mapping Contest

The community page VIA recently held a mapping contest to give Quake IV mappers the chance both showing their skills and doing something for the community. Let's have a look at the winners.
The contest lasted about two months, two months of hard work the competitors were inflicted in, and now the winners of the Quake IV Mapping contest hosted by the community page viacga.com have been revealed. At least 26 maps were submitted to the jury consisting of both doom3world.org and viacga.com administrators, who closed themselves in their caves and started playing the pretty maps in order to come finally to their conclusion. Here are the winners.


On the third of February you'll be able to download all these three maps as well as a packet including 12 other maps entered.

Twenty-six maps were submitted and most of them were pretty damned good, so we had our work cut out for us. After several playtesting sessions the field was narrowed to a short-list of 12. From the top 12 we continued to playtest until we arrived at the top 3 entries. And now after many hours of fragging late into the night, day after day, we have finally decided on the winning entries. So without any further ado I'm pleased to announce that the winners are:
