Top American Quake 4 Player Mark "cl0ck" McGrail gives his thoughts on the Quake IV TransAtlantic finals match between _socrates and Cooller. ![]() Alright, first of all could you let us know who you are and what brings you to this event? My name Mark “cl0ck” McGrail, and I'm here just watching Socrates_ totally devastate cooller. What did you think about the performance of Cooller today, do you think it was a little off key for his normal self? Nah, i think Cooller definitely played the way he would to win a tournament, but Socrates_ is just so much better right now. He just got back from Sweden and I’ve never seen anyone play, as well as Socrates_ played today in any match I’ve ever been in. Do you this is the start of a trend for Socrates_? Do you think he’ll be able to continue this kind of performance in the future, or was this perhaps a one time performance for him? I think he would be able to stay as good as this more consistently if he started practicing more regularly. Practicing in Sweden is why i did so well today I’d say. If he could get some more international practice in I think that will help him out majorly at bigger events. He’s definitely the one to beat right now. For Cooller obviously this is a very big emotional setback. Have you ever seen him dealt this kind of defeat? Do you believe he will be able to recover and continue his strong play? Dude no, I’ve never seen Cooller lose a tournament before, well I have but it’s been a very very long time. When he does lose its always close. This though, this was just domination, I’ve never seen him lose this bad before. I’m really anxious to see if he’s going to continue with Quake or not. I can’t imagine he will be able to find the motivation, with law school and all. Sounds great, thank you for your input. When will we see cl0ck compete next? I’m trying to get myself some local tournaments in the New York area, its essential practice. I’m trying to get to Kentucky for the World Series so hopefully you’ll see me there. Anyone you’d like to thank? Newegg and Check-Six, because they’re definitely solid guys. |
