Right on the toes of an expected Q4 patch from id, the Quake 4 Maximizer team has released an update to their modification.
As
stated with the release of 0.72, 0.73 includes compatibility with the upcoming iD Software 1.1 Point Release (which has been rumored to be out very soon), along with a few other tweaks and fixes. Quake 4 Maximizer | Press Release
By now I'm sure you've seen that Quake 4 v1.1 is upon us. Thanks to SyncError, we've had early access to the mod SDK and have been working hard to get our code merged with theirs. This is a great move by id and has accelerated an awkward process.
Below you'll find the link to download Q4Max v0.73, and to read the changelog in the Wiki. In order to bring this release out in sync with the Q4 point release, we've had to hold back on implementing a number of new features that we had in the plan. We've also had a comparitively short test cycle. Given the amount of code changes involved and this time scale, it is therefor likely that there are "undocumented features" that have slipped through the net. If you find any such problems/bugs/errors, please let us know via our bugs forum, including any console messages where possible.
We did manage to squeeze in a few frequently requested features. Timeout, quick /follow, corpse and ambient effect filtering plus others, all listed in the changelog. And of course work has been progressing on our external statistic support package, now called MAXStats. We are currently planning a follow up feature and bugfix release within a few weeks of this, which of course will be ready when it's done!
