Quake 4 competition continues today at the Gaylord Texan Hotel in Dallas, Texas for the Intel Summer Championship 2006. The event, formerly known as the CPL Summer Championship, boasts a 128 player tournament with over $70,000 in prize money as well as trip to the finals later in the year and seeding for future events. This third event for the World Series of Video games should provide some very exciting competition as many of the top Q4 players in the world will be in attendance.

All but 32 of the top players have been eliminated. Today marks the start of the Double Elimination section of the tournament. Players are no longer eliminated on a loss, but get knocked into the loosers bracket. Here matches often get more intense. The players know, either win or go home!

Do not forget to set your Personal Timezone to find out exactly when the matches will be played in your area so you do not miss any of the action.
