Several atendees including a few notable world-class Swedish players have descended on the WonderBase LAN currently taking place in Borås, Sweden this weekend. Players have been put into initial group stages and will play an eight-man single elimination thereafter.

Among the notables is WCG 2006 All-Star nominee and F-Player Magnus "fojji" Olsson. Olsson comes off a respectable 3-4th place finish at the WCG AllStars event, nearly defeating his long time iCE cLIMBERS teammate Johan "toxic" Quick, only to blow a 10-frag lead with 5 minutes to go on Monsoon. He will compete at the Quake 3 CPL Nordic event in November and may attend the CPL Winter Championships event later this year. Olsson has made it out of the group stage and will be the #1 seed in single elimination.

Two now sponsorless top players in Mikael "PURRI" Tarvainen, formerly of fnatic, and Jonas "OoZe" Gustafsson, formerly of RAW gaming, are also in attendance. Both players are actively looking for new support and look to prove their worth this weekend. Both have moved onto single elimination.

Swedish Unreal Tournament stars Michael "TeveT" Pettersson and Christoffer "luxxiz" Lozell are looking to prove they can match-up with the big boys in Quake in their own game. Pettersson played Quake 4 duel for a short time, competing in the Quake 4 1v1 EuroCup earlier this year. Unfortunately for both players, neither has made it past the group stages.

The group stages have ended and the single elimination bracket will begin at 6:00 AM EST (12:00 CET) this morning, Saturday, November 4th.
