One of the most competitive Quake 4 tournaments to ever take place in the United States is about to be underway. Cutting the fat and giving us some premium match-ups right out the gates, WSVG fields eight of the world’s best players playing for a top prize of $20,000, a Rolex, and a brand new PC. Even with a headliner of that caliber, the second match is pretty good as well. Johnathan "Fatal1ty" Wendell against Rafik "LoSt-CaUzE" Bryant. Still without a top place finish in a major event this year Fatal1ty looks to take one down early and prevent a drop to the lower bracket early on. A heart-breaking defeat in the finals of rAge 2006 at the hands of “LoSt-CaUzE” left him with a 2nd place finish in South Africa, something he probably hasn’t forgotten. The wins at rAge, KODE5 USA, and a 3rd place finish at WSVG London give the impression that the formerly underestimated LoSt-CaUzE will not be an underdog this time around. The final two matches Jason "Socrates" Sylka vs. Alexander "Ztrider" Ingarv and James "fnatic.TooGoood" Harding against 3rd. Alessandro "stermy” Avallone promise equally thrilling competition. Stermy>TooGood
Toxic > Lost Cause
Stermy > Socrates

SK.Toxic > Fatal1ty
mouz.socrates_ > Stermy
mouz.socrates_ > SK.toxic
That is my prediction if it's single elimination. I not, I still predict socrates as the winner, just through different matchups.
really nice matches to watch out, one of the better tournament so far with awesome prizes! gl to all competitors :) (go stermy and LC!)
Fatal1ty > EG.LoSt-CaUzE
mouz.socrates_ > fnatic//Ztrider
Stermy < fnatic//TooGood
mouz.Cooller > Fatal1ty
mouz.socrates_ > fnatic//TooGood
mouz.socrates_ > mouz.Cooller
looks like some great match ups
gl
but socrates should have a good shot
Finals are completely focused on a TV show production, so there is no live broadcasting there which definitely makes spectating live a bit less fun. It should be very interesting to see what the end product looks like though.
Every event he just lets everyone know why he is #1.
People don't randomly lose in Quake 4 like some other competitive eSport games.
Toxic is just 2 steps ahead at all times.
and wow fat > socrates
Cooller needs to retire from gaming.
Taking 3 maps from what appeared to be an invincible opponent in Johan Quick.
Thought Wendel was going to pull a win out of nowhere and upset Quick there for a second. Though the advantage in Quicks' favor was just far too great for the eSports poster boy to over come. Great games though. Good luck to Wendel in the future, and believe me when I say that this is only the beginning. The name Fatal1ty will not go down without a fight. He will show the world again why he is Fatal1ty, and his name is known by the whole gaming world. Just a great showing.
Fatal1ty made sure there was no Quick, and flawless victory for Toxic this match.
Though Johan Quick did win, perhaps we have seen a flaw in the machine that is Toxic?
Great games to both!!!
