Do you have any certain mental exercises you go through before a match or big tournament like Lanwar? I always try and stay prepared mentally before any event I play in, and in my opinion, is one of the most important parts of my warm-up. Concentrating on how I will play my game and generally feeling confident about my style of play are key when I prepare for my matches. How confident were you going into the event that you could win? I knew that I had a big chance of winning the event, but I wasn’t sure how I would play with so little practice. I skeptical about how well my aim would be, especially when I’d only played the newer maps a couple of times before the event. What was your strategy going into the Finals against av3k? I really didn't think that much about it. I have played av3k twice before, and won both times. I know how he was playing, but I couldn't really play as well as I wanted to since my aim seemed to be a bit off. Av3k played very well, controlling the maps very well and hitting many of the important shots. During the finals match, av3k was taunting you through text in-game; how do you feel about this and do you think actions should have been taken against him as a result? How do you think this reflects upon him as a player? Hehe, it really didn’t phase me that much. I don’t like to lose but I can usually keep myself composed and take a defeat when it happens. I know that he practiced very hard before the event, and if people want to type things during a match, it’s up to them. I just play my game and hope that I will end up winning. I don’t need to type or say things to the other players to feel better about myself. What were your thoughts of the event as a whole? Admins, competitors, equipment, etc. I think the admins and staff where doing a great job. They had a lot of players complaining but I think they handled it well. Though there were problems with the network at first for this event, I’m sure everything will go smoothly for the next one in Dallas. Also, I would love to see CRTs for the next WSVG events. I honestly don’t think LCD technology has caught up to accommodate pro gamers in games like Quake yet. Why are you going to WSVG Dallas and not ESWC? Any specific reason? I really like the WSVG series more than ESWC honestly. I think it's the most prestigious of an event to win and I like their system for brackets a bit more. What more can I say? They are the premier LAN events of the summer. How are you getting ready for WSVG Dallas and how do you feel you will do? I'm going to practice online as much as possible, most of the time against medium-skilled players, so I will be able to get some aim practice in. I'm going to Dallas to win the event. It’ll be a tough event, as usual, but I know that I can do well if I just prepare for it. Any shoutouts or special thanks you want to give? I want to say thank you to Johnathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel and the rest of the Fatal1ty Team for all the support they give me, and also the support they give to the other Free Players and the gaming community. His support gives me the opportunity to develop my own career and identity as a professional gamer. Page:
